A Musical Tribute to The Beatles
Kevin Christman, aka “Mr. Adorable” originally hails from the great state of Michigan. His musical career is wide and varied. In his younger years, you could find Kevin playing in just about any of the bars throughout the Midwest with an assortment of bands. Kevin landed in Detroit in the late 70’s and spent time with “Cheeks”, a prominent rock-fusion band. After leaving ‘Cheeks”, Kevin headed out west to Phoenix where he was the original drummer for “Apple – A Tribute to The Beatles”. He spent several years touring the U.S. and overseas with the band before deciding the road had lost its allure. Upon resettling in Phoenix, Kevin played for several resort bands in Scottsdale before he retired from the biz and got married and raised a family.
Kevin came out of retirement in 1998 and started playing at his church which is where he met fellow church musician and Dave Dodt Band member, Mike Segall. In September of 2007, Mike asked Kevin if he could cover a gig that their drummer couldn’t make and it went so well that Kevin played with the band until the shutting down of the band in December, 2019.
Moving forward to December 2023, Dave Dodt Jr. called Kevin and said that the phenomenal Beatles tribute band, Marmalade Skies was looking for a new drummer, so Kevin auditioned for the band and officially played his first show with them in March 2024. He brings his extensive knowledge of The Beatles music, and Ringo’s playing style to the band, and his warped and twisted sense of humor fits right in with the rest of the band.
Kevin is still the house drummer at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Scottsdale, and in his down time you can find him designing and building custom snare drums, or assisting local drummers with restoration and repairs on their drum equipment.
